Albertsons, Vons And Pavilions Brought In More Than $925,000 For Southern California Families In Need Over 2017 Holiday Season

WORKING WITH THE SALVATION ARMY’S RED KETTLE CAMPAIGN, ALBERTSONS, VONS AND PAVILIONS SERVED SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA COMMUNITIES

Los Angeles, CA. January 25, 2018 – Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions, in close partnership with The Salvation Army, raised more than $925,000 dollars through red kettles during the 2017 holiday season. The success of the campaign is largely thanks to the cooperation and participation of Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions stores across Southern California. These generous donations will be turned into tangible benefits for families and individuals in need in Salvation Army programs.

This past December 10 to December 24, participating stores under the Albertsons banner placed a red kettle – an iconic Christmas fundraiser for The Salvation Army – outside 228 stores. From Bakersfield to San Diego, the donations collected in the kettles came to grand totals of approximately $925,000 across the three store banners. Because the donations of each red kettle stay within the local Salvation Army Corps, Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions play a major role in supporting the surrounding community. The annual red kettle campaign funds local programs and facilities run by The Salvation Army, including homeless shelters, day care services, community centers, rehabilitation, job training, disaster relief and more.
