Ahmanson Foundation Pledges Funding for Salvation Army Long Beach Community Center
Long Beach Red Shield Youth and Community Center Will Benefit Local Families
LONG BEACH, CA. June 11, 2019 – The Ahmanson Foundation has pledged a generous funding grant to The Salvation Army’s Long Beach Red Shield Youth and Community Center Capital Project. The planned community center in Long Beach will benefit children, seniors, families and veterans with accessible resources and recreational programs with a fitness center, athletic field, class rooms and more. The site would also feature homeless services centered on the pillars of prevention, intervention and integration.
The Ahmanson Foundation serves Los Angeles County by funding cultural projects in the arts and humanities, education at all levels, health care, programs related to homelessness and underserved populations as well as a wide range of human services. By supporting non-profit organizations that demonstrate sound fiscal management, efficient operation, and program integrity, the Foundation strives to enhance the quality of life and cultural legacy of the Los Angeles community.
