The Salvation Army operates 159 separate programs and services throughout the great Southern California region. There are 116 Corps and Community Centers and 43 area Salvation Army Thrift Stores/Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARCs), from Orange County to Santa Barbara County, that provide a comprehensive six-month residential program for recovering substance abusers. In addition to food, clothing, and shelter, ARC residents receive counseling, spiritual guidance, and necessary employment skills through an effective work therapy program at Salvation Army Thrift Stores.
