OPERATION FEED OUR FAMILIES
hungry family

OPERATION FEED OUR FAMILIES is The Salvation Army's response to the growing food crisis in Southern California. Skyrocketing prices for both gasoline and food are leading more and more individuals and families in the southland to ask for food assistance.  You can help The Salvation Army meet this challenge and fill this need to keep our food banks and food pantries supplied by joining OPERATION FEED OUR FAMILIES...

The increase in requests for food assistance has been dramatic both in the numbers, and in how widespread it is across the communities we serve.  Some of our local community centers report a 50% increase in requests for food, compared to a year ago.

This heightened demand comes at a time when our supplies are already low. We receive fewer food donations this time of year, and with more hungry families needing help, our feeding programs are stretched to the limit and our food pantries are emptying at an alarming rate. That's why The Salvation Army is implementing OPERATION FEED OUR FAMILIES and urges you to consider joining up to ease the food crisis by giving what you can. $50 won't get you in the door for a good seat at a Lakers' game, but $50 will feed a person for a week; a person you may know, a person who may live next door to you, a person who needs your help right now.
