Remodeled Ventura TLC Open for Business Print E-mail

Common Room at Ventura TLC

The Salvation Army’s Ventura Corps was established in 1891 on Oak Street in downtown Ventura. Over the years there have been many changes as the corps has responded to the changing needs of the community. No where has that change been more dramatic than the recent remodel of its Transitional Living Center.

Stocked Pantry
Ventura TLC sports a fully stocked pantry

The 45 bed facility with 9 family rooms and a dormitory that can house up to 9 single women has now been upgraded thanks to a loan from the State of California EHAPCD and the tireless efforts of the Ventura Corps’ Advisory Board members.
The facility was renewed from stem to stern with a new pantry and fully furnished kitchen to serve the needs of the residents. The capacity of the Transitional Living Center has also been expanded by 4 people. This facility will be a “graduation house” where clients who have been in the TLC program will have the opportunity to extend their stay and participate in the program for an additional 18 months.
