Fritz Coleman Golf Classic Marks 13th Year Print E-mail

Napoleon said an army travels on its stomach. The Salvation Army travels on the commitment and generosity of friends like Fritz Coleman. A staple of local news media, Fritz has been the weekday weathercaster on the KNBC4 evening telecast since June of 1984. A man of many talents, he has written, produced, and starred in three one-man plays. His first production “It’s Me Dad!” won the coveted 1997 Artistic Directors Award.

Fritz has also been a tireless worker on behalf of The Salvation Army. He has participated in Kettle Kick-Off campaigns, food drives, toy drives, and for the past 12 years has lent his good name and his exceptional talents to a charity golf tournament that seems to grow larger and more spectacular every year.

This year, the 13th Fritz Coleman Fair Weather Golf Classic & Night of Comedy promises to supply a day of great golf on one of the most storied golf courses in Southern California where the likes of Bob Hope and Bing Crosby used to regularly tee it up. Besides the great golf in a historic setting, there will also be a night of comedy, silent auction, and live auction: all hosted by Fritz Coleman. Proceeds from the event will go towards the many corps and programs The Salvation Army operates throughout the greater Los Angeles basin.

The Salvation Army is deeply grateful to Fritz Coleman for his years of continued friendship and support for those less fortunate. If you would like an opportunity to participate in this event for either golf, dinner, or both; go the web site www.fritzgolf.com .
