Their purpose was to present the unconditional love God showed to all humankind through His son Jesus Christ, to serve the needs of the neediest, and to defend the cause of the least, the last, and the lost of society. |

Southern California Division Celebrates 120th Year in Los Angeles |

The Salvation Army Southern California Division celebrated its 120th Anniversary in Los Angeles during National Salvation Army Week. The Salvation Army’s presence in Los Angeles dates back to May 8, 1887 when the first open-air street meeting took place at the corner of Temple and Broadway. To this day, a plaque remains embedded in the sidewalk commemorating this historic event. |
